We did some scouting last week. All the ponds are looking good. Hundreds of birds even in the afternoon although most are looking pretty young. The tree row is full. Hopefully they all stay there for a few more weeks.

That's not good at all. The dove were crowding the ponds because there was no water in the bar ditches or the lake bottoms. Hopefully that water soaks in and dries up within the next few weeks.

I think just in case, everyone needs to rub some waterproofer on their hunting boots.

Ramone.

Fill the Freezer full of Ice. You need to bring more than just 3 bags like you did last year.

The Grand Poobah furnished ALL the ice last year for Dove and BBB. To him we should all be grateful!! And maybe this year he will bless us with bags of ice to cool us all.

If anyone is going to be around, we will be hunting on Labor Day day. Probably going to hit some remote spots we hardly ever hunt. Or just follow the game warden around all day honking our horn and asking him where we can buy some chaps like his.

Early Monday the birds were phenominal. They were coming in non stop. Then everything went to hell when the thunderstorms showed up. Haven't seen a bird since.

All of the dove are in my backyard. I don't know if the neighbors will let us hunt though.

The birds were good until they relized that Ramone and ScottyMagee were being puntangs and were not there. So the birds went home and stayed.

No Ramone, No ScottyMagee
No Birds.

Opening Monday we did get to see a little tornado during a beer break out in west of town. Also saw a tree that got hit by lightning. It looked like it got hit by a mortar and the careless weeds around it were blown out of the ground by their roots.
Hopefully everything picks back up once this cold front passes through, otherwise we will have our hunting stools sitting on Scotty's porch.

Went driving around yesterday afternoon. The birds are still here.

Dudley, I edited your numbers above. This is a public forum that anyone can read, including chapmaster G.
